Hourly rate

How is a freelance hourly rate found?

1 min read

The hourly rate is target net plus expenses, divided by hours. This page does not give tax advice; you type the hours and the expenses.

Formula

Hourly rate = (target net + expenses) ÷ hours.

The rate and the amount come from you. No tariff is locked in the code.

Representative example: sewing hour

  1. Sewing hour target net 5,000.00 TRY, expenses 1,000.00 TRY.
  2. Hours 20. The division rounds half-up to the minor unit.
  3. Hourly rate 300.00 TRY.
  4. No invoice is issued.

Common mistakes

  • Pasting someone else’s tariff in place of the numbers you type.
  • Reading a typed rate as an official tariff. The page says the amount was entered by hand.
